Neil, AE1P

First introduced to radio when he was 12 years old with a Knight R-100 receiver, Neil remembers, "From then on, I was hooked. I've always been a tinkerer and love electronics, so it was only natural that I would become a ham at some point."

Licensed in 2003, he upgraded to Extra Class in 2006.

"I love antenna and kit building, contesting, Field Day and just plain old ragchewing."

Neil says, "I have had the pleasure to meet some great people, as that is the one thing this Hobby has no shortage of...really smart, considerate and enthusiastic people.

"I hope to give back as much as ham radio has given me...
lots and lots of enjoyment."

Neil's shack consists of a Yaesu FT-2000, Elecraft K3 and KenwoodTS-450. Two amplifiers, an Alpha 76A and Ameritron AL80B are available when a little extra signal is needed. A Palstar AT4K tuner is also used.

The Antennas

The antenna farm includes a Force12 C19xr on a 52' crank-up tower. He also uses an 80m doublet at 80'.

Another tower, plus more antenna work is planned in the near future...
